Menin Development, Inc., is pleased to announce the hiring of Anthony L. Morrison as Chief Legal Officer, Mel Valiquett as Restaurant Leasing Consultant, and Sally Cooney as Retail Leasing Consultant.

Tony Morrison joined Menin as a partner in early 2011 and brings extensive transactional and financial experience to the firm. From 2006 through 2010, he served as the Chief Legal Officer of the Falcone Group and was a founding partner of Falcon Capital Partners I, LLC. From 1995 to 2005, Mr. Morrison was the Executive VP, Secretary and Chief Legal Officer of Ion Media Networks (f.k.a Paxson Communications Corporation), and from 1987 through 1995, was an attorney in the New York City offices of White & Case and O’Melveny & Myers. Mr. Morrison received his law degree from Columbia University, completed post-graduate studies at the London School of Economics, and is a graduate of Duke University.

Mel Valiquett joined Menin in September 2011 and is one of the restaurant industry’s leading specialists. Mel will focus on restaurant leasing and merchandising at Menin’s Magnolia Park project in Greenville, South Carolina. Valiquett previously served as Vice President Restaurant Leasing for Simon Property Group in Indianapolis, Indiana. With restaurant expertise gleaned at Simon, General Growth, Rouse Company, Trizec-Hahn, and Westfield Corporation, he managed the leasing services for dominant upscale developments in New York, New Jersey, California, Chicago, Connecticut, Florida, Michigan, Texas, Washington DC, and Las Vegas. An alumnus of the University of Michigan, Valiquett is active in the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers.

Sally Cooney joined Menin Development as a Retail Consultant in October 2011 and will focus on retail leasing and merchandising at Menin’s Magnolia Park. Sally’s extensive experience in retail real estate includes 13 years with General Growth Properties as a Regional Vice President. Her responsibilities included the leasing, merchandising and redevelopment of more than three million square feet of retail space. Prior to joining General Growth Properties, Cooney held the position of Executive Director of Leasing for Corporate Property Investors. During her time with CPI, she leased and merchandised over one million square feet of retail. Cooney began her career with The Taubman Company where she spent her first 10 years merchandising, structuring rent proformas and business plans. Cooney attended Oakland University in Rochester Michigan.
